Basic Auto Theft Investigations

- Description:
The PA ATPA will be conducting a training program on techniques and tactics for basic auto theft
investigations. Attendees will learn to identify vehicles using vehicle identification numbers and
confidential means and to recognize altered vehicle identification numbers and trade craft within the
theft organizations. Attendees will also develop expertise to conduct a large-scale auto-theft-related
investigation (with investigative methods during this course); present the case to the prosecution and
prepare an indictment for the criminal participants. This program is geared toward both
investigators and patrol officers.Instructors will be experienced investigators from the Pennsylvania State Police Auto Theft Task
Force program and the NICB.There are 60 training slots available on a first-come, first-accepted basis. There is NO fee for this
